Felt like/feels like

Running used to hurt.

I could feel the fat on my legs wobbling. I literally thought that the fat bouncing up and down on my things and stomach was going to rip the skin off my body! It hurt.

I used to wake up in the morning after exercise and the soles of my feet were so sore from the pounding of over 100kg that I would not be able to walk. I would compensate by walking on the sides of my feet which put pressure on my calves and knees. It hurt.

Now it doesnt hurt. Now its empowering.

Now I love to run and the treadmill and I have become good friends.

I leave you with this. I have it printed out on my fridge.

  1. I love that Nike ad! Thanks for sharing it. I think I need to find a home for it in my home too....maybe right by the TV. ;)

I can totally relate to this post. I'm only only week 6 of the Couch to 5k program and I already feel so fantastic compared to when I started. My feet are fine now and I think my shins and calves have become much stronger. I can even breathe properly, ha!

This is a great reminder that your body is capable of adjusting in a positive way if you just stick with it.

    Have a good one!

  2. Thanks so much for this post!!! IT GIVES ME HOPE! I am currently in the feels-like-the-gravity-from-running-is-going-to-rip-my-skin phase, but I am still doing it. My feet do hurt in the morning, but I am still running. I know it will get better, but sometimes it is just nice to see someone else's proof that it does. THANKS! <3 your blog!

  3. Well done you - my plan is start running when I'm down to double digits - my reward for getting into them is going to a be a pair of whizz bang sneakers...then you won't see my for dust!! xx

  4. It is so true too isn't it? There is always someone busier than you who gets time to exercise! Thanks yet again for your inspiration as I had started running a while ago before my set back and to be honest I was in no rush to start again for the reasons you state above! wobbling thighs and jiggling tummy poking out the bottom of your tshirt is not a good feeling or look! I will start up again tomorrow :-)
